The golden rules of w-day skincare
After a flawless complexion in time for the big day? We asked the skincare experts to share their tips.
1. Give it time
As leading aesthetic doctor Dr Maryam Zamani points out: “Sometimes I see brides who buy creams that are too rich or using too many products together, which can be antagonistic to skin.” So don’t be tempted to slap it all on and, instead, be strategic about what you want to get from your products.
6. Consider high-octane options
If you think you might need a helping hand, ther’s a whole host of aesthetic treatments available. As a newbie, microdermabrasion and peels might be something to consider as they’re non-invasive and have minimal recovery time. “These exfloliate the face and are great to help let youthful skin glow through,” says Dr Zamani. “It’s not pleasant – not like a spa treatment! – but they are tolerable.” For plumper skin, Dr Zamani recommends having a peel combined with LED light to help exfoliate, hydrate and stimulate. These are best done one month before and again 10 days prior to the big day.
