Foods that are high in antioxidants help eliminate free radicals that are caused by pollution, stress and environmental toxins. Eating more antioxidants filled food like blueberries, raspberries, acai berries, goji berries, green tea and raw cacao will boost your own bodies mechanism against free radicals. Similarly, high quality omega 3-6- 9 reduce inflammation, promote cell growth and control the oils and fats in our body. Here are some of the vitamins and minerals I recommend:

Vitamin A

Vitamin A is crutial for the formation of new skin, skin repair and maintenance. Beta carotene is a pre cursor to Vitamin A and can be found in brightly colored foods. Good sources of vitamin A are sweet potatoes, liver, asparagus, carrot, fish oils and egg yolks.

Vitamin B keeps skin smooth and supple.

You can get vitamin B from oily fish, eggs, soy products and whole grains.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant which means it helps to eliminate oxidative stress to your body. It also is essential in maintain beautiful skin as it is a key ingredient in the synthesis of collagen. You can find vitamin C in citrus fruits, broccoli, brussels sprouts, kale, parsley, cauliflower, papaya, tomatoes and strawberries.

Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant that helps fight free radicals, which are catalysts for premature ageing. Vitamin E can be found in pine nuts, spinach, oatmeal, almonds, eggs, walnuts and avacados.


Selenium is a powerful antioxidant mineral that helps maintain skin firmness and elasticity. It works synergistically with Vitamin E to enhance the antioxidant function. Selenium helps prevent acne as well. Selenium can be found in walnuts, tuna, liver, onion, whole grains, brown rice and brazil nuts.


Zinc is another important trace mineral that is vital to the immune system and helps repair damaged tissue and heals wounds. A deficiency in zinc can cause acne as it helps regulate the production of oil in the skin. Zinc can be found in oysters, pecans, pumpkin sees, ginger, an whole grains.
