The Pre-Red Carpet/ Fashion Week Beauty Treatment

Beauty Treatment – February is officially here, and we all know what that means! Fashion week is once again upon us. The best part about Fashion Week is all the pampering and ‘treating yourself’ you can actually get to do. With shows starting remarkably early and continuing through the entire day, it’s important that you are prepared.

A clean diet is key. This means unprocessed foods with lots of greens, lean protein and healthy fats from nuts, seeds and oily fish. This is where we obtain most of the vitamins and minerals that are vital for skin repair and healthy hair – and that coveted glow! Stay hydrated. That means at least 8 glasses of water a day. Keep a full bottle with you as a reminder.

Facials are meant to rejuvenate and treat your skin while helping you relax and destress. However, if you get a facial at the wrong time you could be more upset than happy. When it comes to getting your skin to glow, timing and the type of facial you get are important which is why Dr Zamani recommends getting a facial at least two weeks prior to the event as a common side effect is an unexpected breakout.

If you are considering any facial fillers prior to the red carpet or any event, schedule appointments at least 4 weeks prior to the event as they need time to settle post-injection.

To ensure that Botox results in beautiful natural looking result it is important to schedule a consultation with a reputable practitioner that is certified in plastic surgery and understands the anatomy of the face. Botox is an anti-wrinkle treatment that helps to restore a freshness to the face by minimizing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Botulinum toxin, a neurotoxin, is injected into the muscle and works to temporarily paralyze the muscle movement which can instantly eradicate or soften lines.

The super fine injections can be administered with little discomfort during one 20-minute appointment and will target specific problems, such as crow’s feet, horizontal forehead lines, furors in between the brows, bunny lines, smokers’ lines, neck lines and neck bands. There is minimal downtime; some bruising may occur post-treatment. Effects are generally noticeable between two and eight days after treatment and will typically last three to five months. Botox is a very effective option to soften fine lines and wrinkles without resorting to more invasive invasive. Botox can also be used in conjunction with other facial aesthetic procedures such as dermal fillers or laser treatment to optimize results.

Lastly, getting your beauty sleep is just as important as anything else we do for our skin and minds. We call it beauty sleep for a reason. Propper rest is for our overall beauty and wellbeing. Our skin repairs and rebalances itself while sleeping. An exhausted body cannot possibly function the way it is meant to and it can have a major negative impact on our mood, mental capabilities, and our complexion. Resulting symptoms can include a dehydrated complexion, breakouts, and redness leaving skin looking dull and lacklustre so make sure you are getting those early nights prior to your event!
