The Pre-Wedding ‘Tweakment’

Pre-Wedding Tweakment – For many brides-to-be, the perfect time for guilt free pampering is the lead up to the wedding day. Every bride wants to glow and look perfect on the big day and while skincare products will undoubtedly provide a radiant glow, a few ‘tweakments’ can also help her feel confident and the best version of herself!

1. Ultherapy

Ultherapy is a low-risk, high results treatment that uses high intensity ultrasounds to stimulate the deep layers of your skin to promote collagen and to help lift, firm and tighten the skin. The results are incredible, and in the words of Dr. Zamani it’s the best non-surgical treatment: “There is surgery, there is ultherapy and everything else falls beneath that.” It’s a quick treatment that can be done in just one hour after which you can resume with your day, and it’s recommended to be done every one or two years. The few downsides is that it can be painful and it can take a few months for the results to show, other than the little bit of bruising and swelling that can occur with any treatment.

2. Botox

Botox is one of the most popular treatments used to look younger, for a good reason: it works wonders. And other than reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, botox can be used to streamline the jaw, reduce the appearance of scars and help with excessive sweating, which could be useful for a summer wedding. Botox lasts for about three to five months depending on area and dosage, it has a high safety profile and low-risk profile. However, to avoid complications such as frozen muscles and heavy eyebrows, it’s really important to do your research and find the perfect doctor for the procedure. And as with any procedure involving needles you can expect a bit of bruising, so make sure you don’t get a treatment the week of your wedding.

3. Nose, cheek and lip fillers

Fillers are becoming more and more popular lately, because of their ability to change the your appearance without the need for a surgical procedure. For lip, nose and check fillers the injectable used is usually hyaluronic acid, which can last for 12 to 18 months before dissolving. It’s a perfect solution if you don’t want to commit to a surgical procedure but you want to fill the small bump in your nose or get fuller lips for your big day and the photographer’s pictures. And don’t worry: if you don’t like the effect or there’s any complication hyaluronic acid can easily be dissolved with hyaluronidase.

4. Tear trough fillers

Another use of fillers that you may haven’t heard of is tear though fillers that can help if the preparations for you big day have kept you awake and you have dark circles to cover. As with the fillers mentioned above, this delicate eye procedure uses hyaluronic acid to add volume to the areas that lack it, reducing darkness and the appearance of a sleepless night.

5. PRP, the ‘vampire facelift’

Finally, if you want to be adventurous and try something different, you can follow the example of celebrities like Kim Kardashian-West, Bar Refaeli and Rupert Everett and get a PRP, otherwise known as the ‘vampire facelift’. PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma and it’s a treatment during which your blood is spun down, the platelet-rich plasma is removed from it and re-injected into the skin or placed on top of it. The procedure only takes 30-45 minutes, and thanks to the proprieties of PRP it stimulates collagen improves skin tone and elasticity or promotes hair growth when injected into the hairline. Again, because of the use of needles you can expect some bruising and redness if done in conjunction with a laser or a skin pen, but other than that there are no downsides as the procedure uses your own blood components so there can’t be any adversary action.
