Chemical Peels
Chemical peel treatments including glycolic, lactic, mandelic, salicylic, TCA and combination peels can be customized to revive the complexion based on skin concerns and desired social downtime. Gentle to more aggressive resurfacing can be used to treat acne, sun damage and hyperpigmentation to reveal healthy, even skin.
Peels can be combined with a number of other treatments including LED treatments, microdermabrasion and laser treatments for optimal results.
WHAT TO EXPECT?
Before treatment the face will be cleansed and a chemical solution or mask is applied to the skin to remove the top layers. Mild stinging may be experienced during the treatment. Skin will be red, tight, irritated or swollen after treatment. Instructions will be given after treatment for sun protection, cleansing and moisturizing. Avoid picking, rubbing or scratching of the skin. For lighter peels, skin may flake mildly. For stronger peels, skin will become tight and eventually the skin will peel. With light or medium peels, more than one treatment may be needed for desired results.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF CHEMICAL PEELS?
Chemical Peels including Dermamelan™ can be used to treat wrinkles, skin pigmentation and scars on the face. Results have continued improvement with repeated treatments. Deeper chemical peels offer more dramatic results but also have a longer recovery time. To determine which peel is best, a thorough consultation is needed.
