Get Fashion Week Ready

London Fashion Week is fast approaching and this means that models from all around the world are visiting their dermatologists and estheticians for skincare treatments that would give them the best runway-ready skin. Whilst having a good skincare routine is key to maintaining bright and healthy skin, you may find that skin treatments provide a quick fix. Many celebrities swear by different treatments to really prep the skin before big events, as everyone wants to present their best selves in front of cameras and the masses of people that watch them or have access to published pictures from such events. London Fashion Week is no different. Fashion Weeks are some of the most important weeks for a runway model’s career, and so it comes as no surprise that they would want to be the healthiest and fittest they can be, alongside having the best skin they can have. Beauty starts from within, and our skin is a great indicator of how our body is doing internally. We all know that our skin can be unpredictable in the ways it presents itself, as the slightest change in one’s daily routine can cause our skin to react, and that is exactly what models aim to avoid, which is why they begin their skincare prep weeks before to prepare their skin for the chaos and stress that any fashion week would bring.

CHEMICAL PEELS

One of the go-to skincare treatments used by models is chemical peels. Skin peels are treatments that manage and protect the skin against problems caused by oxidative stress such as ageing and acne, hyperpigmentation and sun damage. These peels work to break through and remove the dead skin cells present at the surface of our skin, to reveal newer, healthy skin. Additionally, peels stimulate collagen production in skin cells, which results in smoother and younger-looking skin. There are three depths to peels; mild, medium and deep. Mild peels are often a favorable option for model’s due to its gentle nature and its low recovery time. Filled with either AHA’s, BHA’s or PHA’s, these peels gently exfoliate the skin, removing any buildup of dead skin cells, resulting in a brighter and healthier complexion with little to no recovery time! A perfect fix for models looking to give their skin extra care, without the stress of dealing with any redness or inflammation post-treatment.

FILLER

Something that models face regularly due to their hectic lifestyles is ‘tired-eyes’. From constant travel resulting in a lack of sleep and long work schedules, models look to undergo treatments to tackle any eye-related issues. As the skin around our eyes is the thinnest, it shows signs of ageing and other oxidative stress much quicker than the rest of our face. Stress often shows up under our eyes in the form of pigmentation, lines/wrinkles, bags, sagging, and puffiness. Before fashion weeks, models often undergo different eye treatments to reverse all of the above-mentioned issues. To avoid under-eye bags and discoloration, temporary and noninvasive dermal fillers are used. These injectable fillers consist of Hyaluronic Acid and have a gel-like texture. The temporary fillers are injected into the skin to smooth, plump and lift the under-eye region instantly getting rid of pigmentation and under-eye bags, resulting in brighter and healthier looking under-eyes. Hyaluronic acid fillers can also be used to get rid of deep-set tear troughs.
