Dr Maryam Zamani is a highly respected Oculoplastic Surgeon and leading Facial Aesthetics Doctor. She specialises in surgical and non-surgical facial aesthetic procedures at her practice in London, and has garnered a loyal following in both the UK and US thanks to her ultra-subtle approach and meticulous attention to detail.
An American-trained and Board Certified Ophthalmologist, Dr Maryam received her medical doctorate from the George Washington University School of Medicine, receiving the distinguished Beaumonts Research Award. On moving to London, she completed sub-specialty training in Oculoplastic & Reconstructive Surgery at Imperial College Healthcare and the Chelsea & Westminster NHS Trusts, and now holds licenses to practice medicine in both the UK and the USA. She has presented extensively at international conferences and has published articles in several peer-reviewed journals, co-authored book chapters and is frequently quoted in print and online media.
A Subtle Aesthetic
It was the huge advances in the field of facial aesthetics, lasers and injectables that inspired Dr Maryam to open her own practise in Chelsea, London; one of the first doctors to offer both surgical and non-surgical treatments. Her signature aesthetic is exceptionally subtle: she advocates doing very little, comparing what she does to the “no make-up make-up” look in cosmetics – in fact, one of the things that brings her most satisfaction is when patients she has treated say they’ve become confident not wearing any make up. “It gives me great satisfaction when patients say they feel confident with their skin and how they appear after treatment. When patients comment they don’t need to wear foundation, or that they are getting compliments on their skin, that makes us both happy,” she says. “I think ultimately what we all want is to look like we’re really well – or that we have very good genes!”
An Expert Eye
During a consultation, Dr Maryam will study your features “to see how everything is moving together,” then suggest subtle strategies to help. “There’s no one thing that’s the magic bullet,” she says. “The answer is almost always a combination of tiny tweaks rather than one big thing.”
In addition to her faultless understanding of facial features, Dr Maryam is able to look at the whole picture and encourages clients to think about their sleep, stress and overall wellbeing as part of their aesthetic journey. She is also a qualified skin expert with her own line of multi-award winning products, MZ Skin by Dr Maryam Zamani. The range combines a conscious approach to ingredients with transformative, performance-driven formulations, blending potent ingredients and proven science with sumptuous textures and beautiful, feminine packaging.
