Tranexamic Acid (TXA) for Melasma

Injectable tranexamic acid is an efficacious and safe treatment option for melasma in all skin types. Tranexamic acid is used to gradually lighten discoloration in locally treated areas for a more even skin tone.

WHAT TO EXPECT?

Skin is cleansed and tranexamic acid is injected into the hyperpigmented areas. There may be a momentary slight stinging sensation in the area treated. It is recommended to have treatment every 2-4 weeks for 6-10 sessions.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

Injectable tranexamic acid can be used on its own or it may be combined with other treatment modalities to decrease the appearance of pigmentation and treat melasma.
