Wrinkles
Wrinkles and fine lines can be caused when repetitive facial movements and expressions – such as squinting, smiling or frowning – called dynamic rhytides (wrinkles). Each time you use a facial muscle, a groove forms beneath the surface of the skin and as skin ages, it loses its ability to spring back into place resulting in these grooves becoming apparent even when not using the muscle. This is called a static rhytide. Depending on the location and cause of the lines and wrinkles, different treatment modalities can be used.
