Tear Trough

The tear trough is characterized by a lack or loss of volume in the lower eyelid that creates a shadow appearance of a dark circle.  With age, the depression can become more pronounced resulting in eye bags, dark circles and sunken, tired looking eyes.  This can be exacerbated by the herniation of fat above.  Often volume replacement can improve this area but must be evaluated by a specialist to determine the best treatment plan.
