PRP – Platelet rich plasma – What Is It?

PRP – Platelet rich plasma is an injectable treatment using the individual’s own blood. This treatment consists of drawing blood from a vein which is spun in a machine in order to separate red and white cells. These white cells will be injected into the concerned area. The white cells (plasma) are known to have many benefits as they contain proteins that support tissues to grow, heal and regenerate them. This is an excellent treatment to have any time in the year as there’s no downtime and promotes skin quality.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

Facial rejuvenation by improving skin elasticity, texture and overall quality of the skin. It also helps with hair growth amongst many others. During the treatment multiple injections will take place, some deeper and others more superficial according to the tissues which are targeted. For example, when treating the face we can target ageing signs even at the bone level by injecting into deeper planes. In other words, on the same treatment we can target many concerns, tissues and planes, improving skin quality inside out.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

Hair loss & thinning

Scars (surgical and non-surgical)

WHAT ARE THE SIDE EFFECTS?

Barely any however as any injectable treatment minimal bruising and some swelling might occur, although not very common.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I HAVE IT DONE?

It will depend on treatment outcomes and main concerns. We could recommend 3 sessions a year or 1 session per month.
