Purpose with Joy: Skincare Is Selfcare

Everyday is a BUSY day; it can be relentless, ever moving with an abundance of tasks and obligations and it often leads us with little time to take care of ourselves. The biggest shift to wellness and the beauty industry is the influence of mindset. Mental well being is intertwined with our daily skincare routines so that you can infuse joy into your purpose. Using skincare as self care emphasizes the essential connection between our mental state and our well being. Skin is the largest organ of the body and a reflection of our overall health and well being.

My patients are skintellectuals and are increasingly investing in gaining more knowledge about their skin health with a focus on solution oriented approaches that address the root of the cause of the concern. Consumers want happy skin which translates into self confidence and self love. Prioritizing self care should be non negotiable and skincare is an important ritual.

I am a strong believer that skincare rituals or routines are a form of active meditation that can have a significant impact on our mental health. The simple task of taking and dedicating time to self care can help reduce stress and help us relax. Touching the face, using massage techniques, and applying skincare can bring us tranquillity and rejuvenate us. Radiant, clear skin is a confidence booster and makes us feel better about ourselves. Having a positive mindset can also spill into other parts of our lives.

What can you do? Incorporate a consistent routine into your daily life to promote healthy, glowing skin and enhance your well being. Take time to find a routine that suits you. Skin does not remain static throughout the year. Product and treatments should be tailored to seasonal weather changes as well as associated issues or concerns.

Incorporating other self care practices into your daily life can also help mental and physical wellbeing. A personal favourite is exercise; it helps keep the body fit, and the mind fresh. Another key act of self care is sleep; it allows the body to rest and rejuvenate. Creating a calming bedtime routine can help you achieve quality sleep needed for optimal health. Mindfulness and relaxation techniques like meditation or deep breathing exercises can help reduce stress, improve focus and promote a sense of calmness. Taking a few moments to quiet the mind can have a profound impact on mental wellbeing.
